The Maker Studio

We are excited to announce a new collaboration that will expand our offerings for the Montclair, New Jersey community!

We have partnered with Elizabeth Smith Jacobs, a Montclair-based teaching artist for more than 35 years and founder of The Clay Studio in Montclair in 1991. Elizabeth has a BFA from SUNY Purchase and a Masters in Art Education from New York University. She is mixed-media artist who works in a variety of mediums, from clay to photography, from metal to fabric, from cement to bones, and has been an exhibiting artist for nearly three decades.

This year, Elizabeth has transformed The Clay Studio into The Maker Studio and is working in partnership with The Creativity Caravan to introduce new mixed media classes, workshops, and camps. Elizabeth is teaching and hosting an eclectic variety of focused workshops at her home studio, a five-minute walk from The Creativity Caravan and three blocks south of the Montclair Art Museum.
