Creative adventures are a huge part of our work at The Creativity Caravan. We are passionate about travel and love dreaming up projects to inspire communities around the country. We take great care in designing experiences that promote collaboration and make creativity accessible to all ages and abilities.
In July 2014, we successfully completed a crowd-sourced Kickstarter campaign for Type Rider II: The Tandem Poetry Tour, riding more than 1,000 miles from Boulder, Colorado to Beloit, Wisconsin by tandem bicycle. We partnered with Little Free Library, a non-profit organization headquartered in Milwaukee promoting literacy and a love of books, to build 25 new community book exchanges along our route. We also towed two vintage typewriters behind us and wrote free Tandem Poetry for the people we met along the way! To learn more about our Midwest journey last summer, go here. We are excited to launch our latest project, The Tiny Book Show, a traveling exhibit of artist-made tiny books slated for the spring/summer of 2016! We will be transforming our vintage caravan to serve as a mobile exhibit of works that will be no more than 3 inches square in size. To learn more and to see our official call for entry, go here.
