My Mother's Keeper

My Mother's Keeper," is a multi media exhibit depicting women living with mental illness as seen through the eyes of their daughters. Mental illness can wreak havoc on a daughter's life with the force of a natural disaster. The experience can also be transformative, summoning empathy, resilience, and untapped wisdom. This traveling exhibit responds to this complex experience, and is the result of a collaboration with Intensive Family Support Services of the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris, Inc. The group exhibit first debuted in 2018 at The Creativity Caravan’s gallery in Montclair, and was then on view at Caldwell University's Werner Hall Gallery from April to August of 2019. The following is a selection of work from the original group exhibit which featured the work of 21 artists.
