Natural Creativity (and Weed Walk)
Using the local healing plants to spark, cultivate and inspire the creativity in everyone
By becoming more aware of the natural world around us, we can begin to tap into our own innate creativity. We will learn about the myth and folklore of the plants that grow all around us, as well as ways we can use them to stimulate, support and open up to our own innate creativity. starting at The Creativity Caravan, we will venture outdoors weather permitting, to visit the magical plants that grow in the fields, backyards and sidewalks of Montclair. $25 per session/$60 for all three.
About the facilitator: Scott Massarsky combines his three loves of art, music and the healing plants as a teaching artist to give fun, unique and informative workshops, lectures and performances. Scott graduated with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and has received grants from the Puffin Foundation for both art and songwriting. He is currently a teaching artist with the Peace Garden Song and Mural project - where he brings murals, music and mindfulness into schools. He has been practicing herbalism for the past 15 years apprenticing with Herbalist, Robin Rose Bennett for the last three. By learning firsthand from the plants, Scott has discovered that creativity is much more than art in a gallery or music from an instrument. The plants have taught him that magic is all around us and the more we are aware of this the more we can create what we want in our lives and in the world.
