Our March Featured Poets:

Mariah Ayscue

Mariah Ayscue

Mariah Ayscue (She/Her/Hers) is a spoken word poet, playwright, and performer from Montclair, New Jersey. Mariah has trained at ATC Studios in Clifton, New Jersey and is a graduate Directing Fellow and Company Member with Girl Be Heard in Brooklyn, NYC. Mariah hopes that her upcoming book, We Are The Blasting Silence will be shared with people rising through the Resistance Movement who are having trouble recognizing their resilience, beauty, and power. Her book looks at the resistance movement through an intersectional feminist focus and gives a voice to survivors who aren't rich, cis, or white.

Robin

Robin

Robin is a poet, writer, and spoken word performer. He has won various poetry slams across the US, including at the legendary Nuyorican Poetry Cafe, and was voted the 2018 Jersey City Slam People's Poet. He also provides vocals for the band "Sound Thought", which incorporates Spoken Word with piano and string instruments. Currently, he holds a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University and a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago. Robin can be found on Instagram under his two accounts: "@RobinSpokenWord" and "@MissingFrames". Robin was also voted the number one poet in the United States for three years in a row by his mother, and two years in a row by his grandmother, who has much stricter standards.
